SIFE ALBANIA REPRESENTED BY
UNIVERSITY OF TIRANA RANKED THIRD BEHIND USA AND CANADA AT THE SIFE WORLD CUP COMPETITION OF FREE ENTERPRISE
(New York, USA October 10-13 2007)

SIFE Students from 44 countries around the world, representing more than 1500 Universities competed for the prestigious award of the SIFE World Champion on October 10- 13 at the Hilton Plaza in New York, USA.

"This is a competition where gather the best business minded students from all over the world," says Behar Male, President of the SIFE Albania Board of Directors. "It is amazing seeing so many different cultures with the common aim of making a positive impact in their communities."

More than 2200 people attended the competition organised by SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise). Early this year every country organizes National Competitions where the best team is selected and advances at the World Cup Competition .

The student's projects were judges by a distinguished panel of business persons comprising more than 600 persons from USA and overseas, while the Final Round of Competition comprised some of the world's leading CEO's.

The SIFE team from University of Tirana advanced to the Semi-final Round of the Competition after winning in League 8 with SIFE teams from Egypt, Brazil, Philippine, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. In the semi-final round of competition our team eliminated the SIFE teams from Australia, United Kingdom and Egypt by qualifying at the Final round of competition. In the final round of competition CEO's like Ulrich Lehrer (Henkel, Germany), Michael Hastings of Scarisbrick (KPMG, UK), Dame Mari Richardson (HSBC, UK), Dough Conant (Campbell, USA), Lew Kaden (Citigroup, USA), Mike Polk (Unilever, USA), Paul Reilly (Kornferry, USA) etc, judged the student's presentations.

SIFE Albania participation at the World Cup was made possible by the financial contribution of USAID that covered all the travel related expenditures and the Durres Port Authority.
